01Counter · Appliance parts Austin

Appliance parts and small-job hardware, matched to your model number.

We run a small parts counter at 105 River Road in Austin. Washer pumps, dishwasher gaskets, dryer belts, faucet cartridges, and screws sold six at a time. Send us the model tag or bring the old part. The people at the counter read it, and we check shaft, mount and connector before we name a number.

Most single parts run $14–$95; fasteners from $0.15 a piece. Indicative ranges, confirmed on reply once the fit is checked. No cart, no checkout.

03Method · Measured, not guessed

How a compatible appliance part earns the word.

Compatible means same shaft, same mount, same connector. We check all three or we don't call it compatible. This is the order it happens in, from the moment your message lands.

  1. You send the tag, or the part

A clear photo of the rating plate works. On a washer it sits inside the door frame or on the back panel; on a dishwasher it's on the tub edge when the door is open. Brand alone is not enough. Whirlpool alone made four drain pumps that look identical.

    Same day you write
  2. We read model and serial together

The serial tells us which production run you have. When two revisions of a part exist inside one model, we ask for the second number instead of selling you the more likely one. One more question from us is cheaper than a second drive over for you.

    Revision split check
  3. We check the three fit points

Shaft diameter and spline, mounting holes and their spacing, the connector key and pin count. For rubber we take the cross-section with a caliper. For threads we put a pitch gauge on it. If one of the three is off, it is not a match, however close the photo looks.

Caliper · pitch gauge · pin count
  4. You get a number and a yes or a no

The reply names the part, OEM or compatible, the confirmed price and when it can be on the counter. In-stock fasteners and O-rings are usually ready the same day. Ordered appliance parts take a few working days, and we say how many before you commit to anything.

04Part matcher · Live result

Start the match before you call the counter.

Pick the machine and the part. The full matcher adds what you have in hand, OEM or compatible, quantity and handover, then shows the fit points we will check, an indicative USD range and any warning that applies, such as a belt rib count or a revision split.

It writes the result straight into the inquiry, so nobody has to retype a model number.

What we won't sell, and who this counter is not for.

If you want someone to come out and fix the machine, we are the wrong call. We supply the part and tell you how it goes in. That's the whole job. Check us the plain way: walk into 105 River Road, call the number that rings at the counter, read the four refusals below, and read the fit guarantee we put in writing.

  • Licensed tech only

Gas valves and gas range igniters

A gas valve that seats wrong leaks, and you won't smell a slow one over a stove that's running. Gas valves go to a licensed tech. We won't sell one over the counter, and we won't sell a gas range igniter either. Electric range elements are a different matter and we stock those.

  • Licensed tech only

    Sealed-system refrigerant parts

Compressors, driers, evaporator coils, anything that means opening the refrigerant loop. That work needs recovery equipment and an EPA certification we don't hold. Door seals, defrost thermostats and bins are fine, and they cover most of what goes wrong with a fridge anyway.

  • Counter only

Shipping drums, doors and other oversize parts

A washer drum or a fridge door can be ordered to the counter, but we do not ship them. They dent in transit more often than not, and a dented door seals badly. Pick them up at 105 River Road.

  • Every part

    Anything on brand name alone

No model number and no old part means no sale. It is not stubbornness. A "fits most" claim is how a pump with the wrong connector key ends up in your kitchen and back in your car.

06Questions · Asked at the counter

Before you drive over.

Can I buy a part with just the brand name?

No. One brand can have four drain pumps that look identical from the outside and differ only at the connector. We need the model number from the tag, or the old part in hand, before we quote.

Is the price on the site what I pay?

No. Every figure here is an indicative range. The counter confirms the real number on reply, after the part is checked against your model and serial. You pay nothing on this site; there is no cart and no checkout.

OEM or compatible?

Your call. A compatible part is often 30 to 50 percent cheaper and fine when it matches on shaft, mount and connector. Where a compatible version has a known weak spot, such as a thinner gasket lip, we tell you and quote both.

Do you install the part?

No. We do not send technicians and we do not repair appliances. You get the part and a plain explanation of how it goes in. If the job needs a licensed tech, we say so before you spend anything.

What if it doesn't fit?

If we matched it and it doesn't fit, that's on us. The terms are on the fit guarantee and returns page.

What to bring

  • A photo of the model and serial tag, sharp enough to read every character.
  • The old part, if it's out. Even broken, it settles most questions in a minute.
  • For a belt: the rib count as well as the length. People forget the ribs more than anything.
  • For a supply line or fitting: the thread size measured, not guessed. 3/8 is not 1/2 with a different nut.
